29 September 2015 – The Dorset-based youth choir, Vocal Impact, is this month celebrating the successful global launch of its professionally-produced album, entitled ‘Sing, as well as the appointment of a new musical director; a highly experienced professional performer and vocal coach.

The album, the first by the not-for-profit youth group, was released globally at the start of this month and features 14 tracks performed by its members. Already several hundred copies have been sold via Spotify, Google and Amazon. A percentage of the proceeds from the album will go to support the charity ‘Leukaemia Busters’.   

In-coming musical director, Tim Dowland, is an accomplished musician on guitar, piano and drums and heralds originally from Poole. He has been a professional vocal coach for more than twelve years and has enjoyed a career in show business; most recently having been a Vocal Coach for the last two series of the BBC programme ‘The Voice’.

He is set to grow the vocal group further and to take it to new heights.

Tim Dowland said: “I’m thrilled to be joining such an ambitious and talented group. I’m passionate about sharing my musical experience with the young people of Dorset and hope to inspire and bring out the best in them.”

Vocal Impact is a community youth choir based in Dorset. Attracting talented children and young people between the ages of 9 and 18 years, the choir is a not-for-profit organisation. About Tim Dowland

Tim Dowland has worked with most contestants and stars involved in the BBC Programme ‘The Voice’ including Jessie J, Tom Jones and Will.i.am.  Tim is also the vocal warm up to theatres such as The BIC and The Mayflower, working with stars such as: Sam Brown, Suggs, Jools Holland, Jessie J

At a young age he entered the world of show business and has performed in over 2,000 live concerts around the world as part of a band incepted 20 years ago, as well as starring as Robbie Williams in Britain’s Robbie Williams Tribute Act, playing nationally and internationally.

Today, Tim continues to successfully work with local Schools on performance singing and vocal arrangements, as well as working in Dancing Schools such as The Poole Academy of Dance. He is the Musical Director for The Amethyst Singers and also his own Adult Choir ‘Citrus Singers’.
