Ever keen to explore new themes and ideas, members of Poole & East Dorset Art Society (PEDAS) rise to the challenge of ‘EKPHRASIS’, an exciting exhibition of painting and sculpture for Dorset Art Weeks. ‘Ekphrasis’ involves the translation of work from one art-form into another completely different form of art or dimension.  The idea is not simply to describe or copy the original piece – but to explain the spirit and essence of it. Visit The Gallery Upstairs at Upton Country Park, Poole  BH17 7BJ. Exhibition runs from 27th May – 13th June, open daily 10 am – 4.30 pm.
