The poor old Jubilee Clock. Once upon a time it stood resplendent, as the jewel in the crown that is Weymouth sea front. Over the years, our clock has seen many changes. From the removal of the Victorian lamp columns and the fairy lights, to the installation of new street lighting, flag poles, CCTV columns and poles that seem not to have a purpose – but to further obscure the view of this important piece of the town’s architectural heritage! And then there are the laser lights. Is it the lasers themselves, which some people object to, or the casing in which they are housed (to the right of the image)?
