There are five stone self-catering holiday cottages at Hell Barn Cottages in Chideock, near Bridport. It is well positioned for fossil hunting at nearby Charmouth on the Jurassic coast. Guests come from all over the world to stay at Hell Barn but this year increasing numbers of Brits are staying. Shige is also well known for cooking Japanese cuisine and does this for guests staying at his holiday cottages.

Hell Barn Cottages self-catering accommodation in Chideock, which has been trading for over 20 years, is now using 100% renewable electricity as well as using biodegradable waste bags.

“The environment is really important to us and we want to do our bit,” says co-owner Shigeaki Takezoe, who runs the business with his wife Diana and drives an electric Nissan Leaf.
