Officers investigating a fail-to-stop collision in Weymouth are issuing an appeal for information to locate the vehicle involved.

Between 11.15am and 11.45am on Monday 8 May 2023 a collision occurred involving a van and a pedestrian in William Street at the junction with the B3155.

The pedestrian – a 15-year-old girl – sustained a serious injury to her knee.

It is reported that the driver of the van failed to stop at the scene. The van is described as yellow with black writing on it.

Police Constable Alison Baker, of Weymouth police, said: “Our enquiries are continuing and I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“If you were driving the yellow van, or have information about who that may be, please do the right thing and contact Dorset Police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230070266. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
