Sergeant Lee Savage, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances of this collision are ongoing and I urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please contact us.

“We are aware several vehicles continued their journey towards Bridport and we are particularly interested to hear from them as they may have information that could assist the investigation.

“Also, I would like to hear from anyone with a dashcam who may have captured the incident or the manner of driving of either vehicle leading up to it.
