Officers searching for a missing man in Poole are appealing for information from the public to help find him.

Dorset Police received a report at 11.17am on Tuesday 5 March 2024 raising concern for the welfare of 57-year-old Richard Smith. He was last seen on Wednesday 28 February 2024 in Julyan Avenue in the Wallisdown area.

Richard is described as five feet 11 inches tall with very short hair and he wears glasses.

Chief Inspector Matt Buller, of Dorset Police, said: “We understand Richard may have been upset recently and we are concerned for his welfare.

“Searches are being carried out in the nearby area, assisted by DorSAR (Dorset Search and Rescue), in a bid to locate him.

“I would ask anyone who has seen or heard from Richard since Wednesday 28 February 2024 to please get in touch.

“Also, I am appealing to residents in the surrounding areas in Wallisdown to please check their home CCTV or doorbell camera footage since the date Richard was last seen for any possible sightings.

“Finally, if you see this appeal Richard – please get in touch with us or your family as we all want to ensure you are safe and well.”
