Officers are appealing for help from the public to locate a missing man from Portland.

Dorset Police received a report at around 1.30pm on Monday 3 January 2022 raising concern for the welfare of 33-year-old Mark Smith, after he failed to turn up to work as expected.

Mark is described as white, five feet ten inches tall and of slim build with short mousey brown hair and tattoos on his arms.

Chief Inspector Jamie Clark, of Dorset Police, said: “Mark has not been in contact with family or friends since the evening of Sunday 2 January 2022 and this is out of character for him.

“We believe he may have travelled to the St Ives area of Cornwall and would urge anyone with information as to his whereabouts to please get in touch.

“Finally, if you see this appeal Mark, please make contact with us or your family as we all just want to ensure you are safe and well.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Mark’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting incident number 3:280.
