INDECENT EXPOSURE IN DORCHESTER – PUBLIC APPEAL

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an indecent exposure incident in Dorchester.

At about 5.50am today, Thursday 25 February 2016, a member of staff was working within the recently-built school extension at Manor Park C of E School in Mellstock Avenue when they noticed a man stood outside the glass double doors leading out onto the playground.

The man exposed himself to the member of staff before walking away.

The offender is described as white, of medium build and was wearing a black beanie-style hat, a black face covering, a black long-sleeved bomber style jacket and black trousers.

Detective Inspector Steve Symms, of Bournemouth CID, said: “While this was a particularly upsetting incident for the member of staff concerned, there is nothing to suggest the school was targeted specifically.

“It is important to stress that no children were present at the time of the incident and officers are working with the school to ensure the safeguarding of both children and staff.

“We would urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, or someone matching the description given, to please call Dorset Police on 101.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 25:37. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
