A joinery firm in Dorset has invested in a state-of-the-art website after reaching £1m of online custom annually.

Boyland Joinery hired digital marketing specialists Cracking Media to bring its internet presence up to date so staff can take advantage of the growing economy.

The long-established firm, which has almost 50 workers at its Stony Lane base in Christchurch, required a website that was friendly to all devices.

The new site is designed for use by customers including architects, builders and developers as well as private home owners and the company’s staff.

With an increasing amount of business coming through the web, Boyland’s managing director Cliff Thrumble decided to invest in the digital side of the company.

He said: “Of our total turnover £1m now comes through our website, which is quite a landmark.

“It became crucial, therefore, to have a website that built on this revenue stream and can help us develop.

“After emerging from the recession we are enjoying a growing economy and the new website will help us ensure we don’t miss out on available work.

“I had recommendations for various web design companies but Cracking Media were outstanding.

“We’ve worked together to produce a website that is phone and device-friendly and which is easy to use.

“It is very handy for our staff who can use it to help customers find what they’re looking for. Already it’s proving its worth.”

Kate Wilkinson of Bournemouth-based Cracking Media said: “Websites really do need to be mobile friendly now as the use of mobile devices has grown massively and search engines

are looking to offer up search results appropriate to the type of device being used.

“We have created a totally new site for Boyland Joinery as we have with many companies that realise how much a good website can improve business.

“Website design is one part of our whole service that includes social media, photography, search engine optimisation and promotional videos.”

Since 1961, Boyland Joinery has been providing the highest quality service possible in manufacturing, installation, design and distribution.
