No one should ever deny anti-Semitism within Labour. It must always be tackled head-on and eradicated for the cancer it is.
We must deal in facts. Factually Labour has been the least anti-Semitic of the main parties, and least racist in general. In both cases, way less than the general population. ANY anti-Semitism is obviously too much TBC.
Now, the media coverage & perception created is literally at the opposite end of the scale to the factual reality. But what this report reveals is deeply, deeply disturbing. The conscious attempt to frame people, deny others their justice for seemingly purely political reasons…WOW?!
The prevention of this evidence being sent to the EHRC is also deeply concerning. This can only bring into question the validity of the forthcoming EHRC investigation. It also raises questions as to why such evidence is prevented from being considered. Is it not the job of the EHRC to decide based on ALL evidence rather than evidence selectively chosen to be considered? Not in this article but still worrying, is the way the EHRC’s former chair, who himself has been incredibly prejudiced against Muslim people and the Islamic faith, yet appears to seek to influence the Labour anti-Semitism investigation by the EHRC, given his public comments.
Also a former member of the EHRC committee being involved in obtaining evidence on behalf of those accusing? We must not confuse denying any anti-Semitism, which I don’t, with consciously attempting to ‘stitch-up’ an investigation, & even denying what must surely be valuable information, from being considered.
Worrying to say the least.
