The public has a final chance to have their say on a draft sports facilities masterplan being developed by Weymouth & Portland Borough Council.
The plan looks at how council owned sports facilities will be run and maintained in the future with a focus on handing some facilities to community groups.
It also considers how the council can best help to sustain levels of physical activity in the borough.
The borough council launched a public consultation for the plan in January and the closing date for feedback is now looming.
Residents and sports clubs now have until Thursday 20 March to have their views heard.
The sports strategy recognises the importance of sports facilities in the area and the plan will guide how these are managed in the future.
Cllr Andy Blackwood, brief holder for Community Facilities at Weymouth & Portland Borough Council, said: “We are very keen to hear people’s views on the draft sports strategy.
“The council has needed to look at the way it manages facilities in the borough especially in the face of Government funding cuts, and this strategy is a comprehensive look at the way those facilities are run in the future.”
The facilities include those owned and operated by the council such as The Marsh, those owned and operated by others on behalf of the council like Weymouth Swimming Pool, or facilities the council has leased to others such as Redlands Community Sports Hub.
After the consultation has finished the results will be presented back to the Policy Development Committee before any revisions are put before Management Committee in June 2014.
