WAND (Women’s Action Network Dorset) would like to invite any interested supporters to their annual general meeting on July 8th.

The meeting is being held in Borough Gardens House in Dorchester on Wednesday 8thJuly from 6pm – 7.30pm.

Following a short report from the organisation detailing the work they have done over the previous year to host events such as Dorset Women’s Day and Reclaim the Night plus the support they have offered to partner organisations such as the Womens’ Refuge, attenders will be offered a FREE delicious cream tea.

They will then enjoy a fascinating talk from experienced local herbalist Fiona Heckels called ‘Lovely for Ladies, Garden Herbs for Wellness and Nurture”.

Fiona says”There is a wealth of herbs for food and health that grow in the hedgerows around us.  By becoming familiar with our local plants we can engage with nature in a direct way, harvesting with sensitivity for food and medicine.  At Sensory Solutions, we are a Community Interest Company, teaching workshops and apprenticeships to encourage the spreading of education about herbal medicine.  I have been a herbalist for over 10 years, but we all have the ability to recognise simple common herbs and make teas, syrups and balms to help us and our families to be a little more self sufficient when it comes to health.”

Attenders will be able to try different remedies and teas and learn how to create them for themselves.

The whole event is free to attend.
