Update:

A man has been arrested in connection with a report of a robbery in Poole.

It was reported that at around 3pm on Sunday 17 March 2024 a man aged in his 70s was assaulted in Lindsay Road and a black leather pouch containing his bank card was stolen.

It was alleged that the bank card was subsequently used to carry out a number of transactions at various stores in the area.

Following enquiries by officers, a 34-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and fraud. He has been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they investigate a robbery in Poole.

At around 3pm on Sunday 17 March 2024 a man aged in his 70s was assaulted in Lindsay Road, near to the junction with Wilderton Road, and had a black leather pouch stolen. The pouch contained the victim’s bank card, which was subsequently used to carry out a number of transactions at various stores in the area.

The victim did not sustain any serious injuries.

The offender was riding a bicycle and is described as white, aged in his 20s, well built, and with blond hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and light blue jeans.

Police Constable Alex Parsons, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries to identify the man responsible for this robbery and I would like to hear from any witnesses who were in the area and may have seen what happened.

“I would also urge motorists who were driving in the area and have dashcam fitted, as well as residents in the vicinity with home CCTV systems, to please review their footage from around the time of the incident to see if they have captured anything that might assist our investigation.”
