Officers are investigating a collision between two cyclists in Bournemouth town centre and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At 2.23am on Thursday 18 August 2022 Dorset Police received a report from the ambulance service of a collision between two male cyclists at The Square. A 22-year-old man from Bournemouth was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Following enquiries, officers have established that the other cyclist remained at the scene for a short while until the arrival of the ambulance service, but then left.

Sergeant Lee Savage, of the road traffic unit, said: “I am appealing for the other cyclist to please come forward to assist our investigation.

“I believe there were members of the public who assisted at the scene and I would urge them to please make contact with us as they might have valuable information.

“Also, I would like to hear from any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police or anyone who has information regarding the incident.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk/contact or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55220134363. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
