Detectives investigating a suspected arson in Holton Heath are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

At approximately 11.10pm on Thursday 2 January 2025 Dorset Police received a report of a vehicle fire outside an address in Holton Heath.

Following initial enquiries, it is believed that the vehicle, a white Nissan Qashqai, was set alight maliciously.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Constable Thomas Pocock, of Dorset Police, said: “We have liaised with colleagues from the fire service and the current assessment is that this incident was not accidental.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the relevant time to please come forward.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen two men acting suspiciously. They are described as white, with one wearing a light coloured hooded tracksuit with his hood up and lower part of his face covered, and the other wearing darker clothing with a coat, black trousers and black shoes and holding a phone torch.

“Also, I am keen to hear from nearby residents with doorbell or CCTV cameras or motorists with dashcam who were driving in the area and may have captured relevant footage that might assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250000901. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
