Police Seek Public Information Following Dangerous Driving Incident In Swanage

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after a dangerous driving incident in Purbeck.

At around 6.40pm on Thursday 27 February 2025 a black Volkswagen Scirocco was observed by officers driving carelessly in East Street from Swanage.

Officers followed the vehicle along the A351 past Corfe Castle where it made off at speed and failed to stop. Officers conducted an area search but the vehicle and driver were not located.

Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area and saw what happened or has relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch.

“I would also urge the driver of the Volkswagen Scirocco to do the right thing and come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250028732. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
