The plates have shifted and the Corbyn hating MPs are going for broke. Ruth Smeeth and Louise Ellman will be tabling a motion on Monday in order to try and force the Labour PLP to accept the IHRA’s full definition of antisemetism in an attempt to undermine the NECs decision. The PLP isn’t the executive body of Labour and there’s nothing in the rule book stating the PLP can bind the NEC to anything so there will be a stand off between the two sides. This of course (outraged) the right wing of the party and their media buddies will use the ensuing row as a starting gun for the inevitable split. Commentators are saying it could be as much as 100 MPs going for broke to try and bring down Corbyn before the government falls.
