GB Spews presenter Darren Grimes has a long record of being controversial about other people’s identities. Having failed to graduate from university, he launched into a career of offending people.

Here are six examples of his behaviour:

  1. Electoral Commission Fine: In 2018, Grimes was fined £20,000 by the Electoral Commission for allegedly breaching spending rules during the Brexit referendum campaign. The fine was later overturned by the High Court, but the incident raised questions about the regulation of political campaigning and Grimes’ adherence to electoral laws.
  2. LGBTQ+ Comments: Grimes has made controversial remarks regarding LGBTQ+ issues, including stating that he believes being transgender is a mental illness. These comments have sparked criticism and accusations of bigotry from LGBTQ+ advocacy groups and others.
  3. Twitter Suspension: Grimes has faced temporary suspensions from Twitter on multiple occasions due to alleged violations of the platform’s rules, including for spreading misinformation and engaging in targeted harassment. These suspensions have fuelled debates about freedom of speech and the responsibilities of social media users.
  4. Allegations of Far-Right Links: Grimes has been accused by some critics of having associations with far-right individuals and organisations. While he denies these allegations and describes himself as a classical liberal, his interactions with certain figures on social media and his commentary on issues such as immigration have led to accusations of dog-whistling and promoting far-right ideologies.
  5. Interview with David Starkey: Grimes faced backlash in 2020 for conducting an interview with historian David Starkey, who made racially insensitive remarks during the discussion. Critics accused Grimes of providing a platform for Starkey’s views and failing to challenge them adequately.

6. Criticism of Black Lives Matter: Grimes has been outspoken in his criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement, arguing that it promotes a divisive and radical agenda. His comments on this issue have drawn condemnation from supporters of the movement and reignited debates about racial justice and activism in the UK.

Therefore, when someone a lot cleverer than him gets one over on him, it is time to celebrate.

This is just brilliant. Grimes, known for his controversial opinions on identity politics and classifying anyone he disagrees with as woke, is done by an acrostic, i.e., a poem, word puzzle, or other composition in which certain letters in each line form a word or words.

Carol Skinner, who knew that Mr. Grimes’s nickname at school was ‘Crafty Wanker’ wrote this poem and posted it to him.

Unfortunately for Mr. Grimes, he had no idea what an acrostic was or took the time to look for it.

One of the comments underneath suggested that Mr. Grimes likes to think he is clever when reality is a long distance away.

That sums up the right of politics.
