The Bournemouth & District branch of Samaritans are delighted and honoured to announce that one of their listening volunteers, will be cycling alone from Kendal (in the Lake District) to Bournemouth, to raise funds for the branch. This marathon effort will begin on Thursday August 29th, with the arrival back in Bournemouth on Tuesday, September 2nd. Nicholas (his Samaritans name) said that he was motivated to raise awareness for the unique work that the Samaritans undertake, providing confidential emotional support by telephone, e-mail or text. Although part of the national Samaritans charity, the Bournemouth and District branch must raise all of their funds locally to operate these crucial services; they get no financial support from the central charity. If you would like to sponsor Nicholas, please do so at www.virginmoneygiving.com/paulsailes.
