Witness appeal following serious assault in Poole

Detectives investigating an assault in Poole are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 3pm on Wednesday 2 December 2020 a man aged in his 20s was walking down an alleyway from Coles Avenue to Hamilton Crescent when he heard someone shouting at him from behind and he was then assaulted by two men.

The offenders left the scene in the direction of Hamilton Crescent.

The victim sustained facial injuries that required hospital treatment. He has since been discharged.

One of the attackers is described as stocky and aged in his late teens to early 20s. He was wearing a black hooded top and was riding a green push bike. The other offender was on foot and was also believed to be wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable David Went, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was an unprovoked violent assault and we are carrying out a number of enquiries to try and identify those responsible.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the relevant time and witnessed anything suspicious, or who has any information that might assist our investigation, to please contact us.”
