Street robbery in Weymouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a robbery in Weymouth.

The incident occurred at around 12.30am on Sunday 7 April 2019 in St Nicholas Street.

An altercation broke out between the victim – a local woman aged in her 20s – and the offender. During this time the offender forcibly removed money from the victim’s hand before he walked off along Lower St Alban Street.

The victim and offender are known to each other.

Police Constable Matthew Love, of Weymouth police, said: “This incident occurred on a Saturday night and I am aware that there were a number of people in the area at the time. I would ask anyone who recalls witnessing this incident, or seeing anything suspicious in the area at the time, to please contact Dorset Police.”
