There will be three showings at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Meet at the Kingcombe Centre to enjoy this free performance, and learn about nature all in the delightful location of our wildflower meadows with stunning countryside views.
The Field Days exhibition, which displays art work inspired by the South Coast Ridgeway will also be coming to the Kingcombe Centre from Friday 22nd July until Sunday 24th July, from 11am until 4.30pm. The exhibition features commissioned works from local and national artists, inspired by the archaeology, ecology, geology and ancient myths and legends of the Ridgeway, a ridge of chalky downland from Broadmayne in the east of Dorset to Kingston Russell in west Dorset.
As part of the Field Days exhibition tour, there will also be a tin and copper smelting workshop on Saturday 23rd July and Sunday 24th July from 11am – 4.30pm. The workshops will be led by Dr Simon Timberlake from the University of Cambridge and will provide a practical introduction to the craft, allowing students to build and operate smelting hearths and then use these to produce copper and tin.
