Picking the single, most-nauseating aspect of today’s nuptials was always going to be a tough gig. However, I’m gonna go with the vomit-triggering tsunami of woke sycophancy; how progressive, how diverse, how delightfully modern our wonderful Royals are.
The idea that a family absolutely steeped in racism, Nazi sympathising and rank bigotry have now blackwashed centuries of colonial bloodshed by admitting one, hand-picked, bi-racial applicant to their ranks is… obscene.
At the same time as Windrush citizens are being deported, immigrants assaulted, antisemitism rising and Islamophobia flying off the scale, the media toadies are patronising the entire nation. That we should celebrate, be thankful to and admiring of these feudal oddities embracing of diversity is abhorrent. Offensive in extremis.
Many of us were, for decades, ’embracing diversity’ by fighting racism, fascism, discrimination and bigotry on the streets, in the workplaces and institutions that perpetuated precisely those things. We need no lectures from the historic trailblazers of imperialism nor their media mouthpieces.
