Hi Lisa here, founder of the Free Energy Party UK.

Emma has been following our progress with our Peace meditations and raising awareness of the Organic Energy Projects that have been proposed across Poole and Bournemouth. We have over 100 members of the public who have formed the Bearwood and Merley Organic energy community group with a huge endeavour at Magna rd. the group members contribute 5 hours a week and receive all their organic food for free, a third is given freely to the surrounding communities of members who’s lives would benefit greatly from this extra support, ex service people, people using food banks, the old and the infirm. The last third of “the Share of the Harvest” is to be sold to outlets such as local cafes and restaurants making organic produce accessible for all as cheaply as possible. It is non profit and the proceeds are to be ploughed back into the projects by assisting the homeless to build their own earthships ( totally self sustaining and Ecologically built shelters /homes).

The projects will provide education facilities and cover a multitude of services currently required by the council. Backed by members with connections with Bournemouth, Southampton, Oxford and Cambridge universities we can offer a huge spectrum of education and qualifications helping with careers and employment by providing these facilities.

Group members who have offered their skills and services will help relieve the burden on council tax payers for services such as adult learning or rehabilitation projects using equine therapy for example which has proven extremely beneficial to society.

Children from local schools have already added themselves to the groups via their parents so they can come and learn the process of being self sustaining, from planting seeds to milking goats, making cheese and other value added products and then learning sales and marketing, distribution and business skills, by taking the produce they have created and selling it into the outlets we have already secured.

The strain on the local NHS will be lifted as organic produce provides 40% more antioxidants than non organic .. GMO food and a community of people eating food high in antioxidants have a more healthy immune system as antioxidants are vital to immune system health.

There is also a proposal to include solar and solar concentrators that feed into the national grid creating energy from the energy of the group members which will mean their household bills will be either greatly reduced or non existent as they become the energy providers.

We will be at the Green Community Fair in Poole park on Saturday and Sunday 30th to 31st to with a stall and to talk to the crowds on stage regarding the platform that The Organic Energy Community Groups are introducing via the Free Energy Party UK.

The Dept of Energy and climate change (DECC) published a new strategy in January predicting locally owned solar, on shore wind and hydro-power projects could create up to 3 gigawatts of electricity by 2020, enough to power a1 million homes. This would need a 45 fold increase in current capacity which is a modest 66 megawatts.

Funding will be applied for from the Community Energy Peer Monitoring fund which has assisted other Transition Towns such as Lewes. The transition town team of Bournemouth Poole and Christchurch have given is their support and experience which we are very pleased to have.

These groups are being created across the UK but as usual, the people of Bournemouth and Poole are pioneering the projects and leading the way.

Kind regards

Lisa Nolson
