Friday 14th June 2013 between 6pm and 9pm will see the meeting of the 18 teams involved in The Windy 500 European Banger Rally. The intrepid teams with their weird and wonderful vehicles, all costing under £500, will come together for the event at the Bob Lucas Football Stadium in Weymouth. With live music from Neil Coad, A Bit of Ruff and the Speedway Snails to see the teams off, it should make for a good night out, or the start of one at least.

The event will be raising money for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice by way of a voluntary entry fee on the gate. There will also be a raffle. At 9pm the teams will start their engines and set off on the 5000 mile magical mystery tour of Europe, covering 23 countries in 23 days.

Vehicles involved so far include a 52 year old Morris Minor, an ambulance, a Lotus, a limousine and various other elderly cars and vans. Further details can be found on the website www.windy500.co.uk .

The Leaving Event is open to all including children. There will be a bar and catering facilities on site. The music will be on a stage in the car park in front of the main stand.
