When we first talked about this show, I thought, “arguing”, “conflict”, yeah! That’s something to really get our teeth into… I didn’t think I’d be throttling someone round the stage to Gangnam Style…”  From Hammer & Tongs

Highly acclaimed Exeter based Theatre Alibi has an excellent reputation for producing imaginative new work, combining an inventive physical performance style with original live music, visually striking sets, props and projection. Previous shows include Shelf Life, The Swell, Goucher’s War, Curiosity Shop and The Crowstarver. This spring, the company are embarking on a national tour with their witty and intelligent new comedy Hammer & Tongs, and will be bringing it to Dorset for just one performance with Artsreach this April.

Written by Daniel Jamieson, Hammer & Tongs is a fresh and off the wall take on arguing. Three men and a woman go over the top in a series of stories that explore the world of Argy Bargy. Billed as a very human comedy, Hammer & Tongs asks what we argue about and just how far we’ll go to prove we’re right. There’s a dream love story, philosophy, Mexican wrestling and a man with Twiglet legs dancing in tights! Played out on an intriguing set with extraordinary props and live music from boogie through to blues, Hammer & Tongs is funny, moving, messy and absolutely bloody-minded…    Suitable for ages 14+
