Officers investigating a vehicle fire near Gillingham are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at around 2.30pm on Saturday 30 April 2022 relating to a fire involving a white Ford van on Fantley Lane just outside of Silton.

The fire service extinguished the blaze and recovery for the vehicle was arranged.

Police Constable Ed Lewis, of North Dorset Police, said: “At this time the cause of the fire has not been confirmed and we are unable to say whether it was deliberate or accidental.

“We are continuing to carry out enquiries to establish the circumstances and I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or if they have captured anything relevant on dashcam footage, to please come forward.”
