Following the launch of a specialist Polish division, a firm of solicitors from Dorset was recently invited to attend a conference in Poland and meet entrepreneurs in Warsaw and Krakow.

The personal invitation was extended to Steve Simpkins from Simpkins and Co Solicitors in Highcliffe from the Head of the British Polish Chamber of Commerce. Set up to provide business information, and trade and investment support, the British Polish Chamber of Commerce (BPCC) works with members and clients across Poland as well as those already operating in the UK.

Following the visit to Poland, Simpkins & Co Solicitors has now been nominated as one of only a few UK law firms that the BPCC will recommend to Polish entrepreneurs setting up in the UK.   During the visit The Tech Company, based in Krakow, also commissioned Simpkins and Co to assist them with their expansion plans into the UK market.

Principal solicitor Steven Simpkins said, “We have two Polish speakers working full time to support Poles living and working in the UK with legal support. We advise in relation to company set up, partnership and business agreements, and any other contractual matters or issues that may arise; from drafting contracts of employment and disciplinary or grievance procedures to providing advice and representation in relation to employment tribunal claims.”

The Polish division is being led by solicitorAgnieszka Bania and Litigation Executive Bartosz Maj with support of Steve Simpkins and other solicitors within the firm, operating from their Dorset offices in Highcliffe and Trafalgar Square, London.

Together with partnering BPCC, Simpkins and Co Solicitors is also working in association with Polish Business Link; the first business network for Polish and British entrepreneurs, encouraging new British-Polish business ventures.

Earlier this month the team were invited to speak at the 2015 Congress of Polish Entrepreneurs hosted by Polish Business Link and Nat West at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Bishopsgate in The City. This high profile event was opened by the His Excellency Witold Sobków, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland.

Steve went on to say, “European migration can be a thorny subject, but we are talking about entrepreneurs and go-getters who are identifying excellent business opportunities and setting up successful companies here in the UK. They are taking on staff and making a substantial contribution to the British economy.”
