Current Leader: “I will privatise the NHS, cut taxes for the very wealthy, cut benefits to the disabled, allow foxes to be ripped to shreds by dogs and allow younger generations to be indebted for life through tuition fees and no access to affordable housing. But I’ll say the words “strong” and “stable” a lot”.

The Electorate: “We like the words “strong” and “stable”. We are going to vote for you.”

Opposition Leader: “We will increase funding for the NHS, renationalise the railways, reverse tax cuts for the very wealthy and redistribute wealth to middle and low income earners, increase social housing, remove tuition fees and only go to war when all other options have been exhausted and the action is UN sanctioned.”

The Electorate: “You’re not very charismatic though, are you?”

Welcome to the 2017 General Election.
