On Friday 24 October, Mayor of Weymouth and Portland, Cllr Kate Wheller, will lead a short service in Weymouth to recognise international United Nations Day. The service is open to the public and will take place in Radipole Park Gardens (The Princess of Wales Gardens) at 10.30am.

The service will include raising the UN Flag followed by speeches from the Mayor and Les Board, Vice President of the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club. There will also be a reading and prayers led by the Mayor’s Chaplain Reverend Deb Smith.

Mayor of Weymouth and Portland, Cllr Kate Wheller said: “I am pleased to have the opportunity to host this important civic service to recognise United Nations Day and acknowledge the outstanding work carried out by the UN throughout the world.”

The Mayor will be joined by representatives of local business groups, friends of the parks and gardens and Borough Councillors.
