Students and staff at Weymouth College are proudly celebrating another year of A Level success, as course results are published across the country today.

This year, the College’s A Level students have achieved an outstanding overall A2 pass rate of 98%, demonstrating that the College continues to maintain an excellent level of performance alongside a strong national pass rate.In 22 out of 23 subjects at A2 a 100% pass rate was also recorded.

 James Lee West achieved two As in Maths and Physics and a B in Chemistry. He has been offered a place at the University of Southampton to study Mechanical Engineering. James said:

“I really enjoyed my time at Weymouth College.  Everyone helped me so much and my tutors have been amazing.”

Callum Peden achieved an A* in Maths and B in both Physics and Further Maths and has been offered a place at Nottingham University to study Maths.

Siheon Choi from South Korea achieved an A* in Government and Politics and an A in both World Development and Geography. Siheon – who has been offered a place at Kings College London to study International Relations – said:

“I am proud that I have finished my 2 years at Weymouth College so successfully.  All my tutors were resourceful and dedicated and helped me out with everything – both educational and personal.  I couldn’t be more grateful for their input. I’m really looking forward to taking up my place at Kings College – their International Relations course is one of the best in the world”.

Aiden Simpson from Bridport achieved A* in Creative Writing and English Literature and a B in Government and Politics.

 Emma Parker achieved an A in English Language C in Psychology and a B in Biology and has been offered a place at Plymouth University to study Midwifery.

Across the College, 248 students applied to university in 2016 with 96% of these students receiving offers from universities across the UK.
