Weymouth college students were given an insight into the life of a Mayor and borough councillors.

Weymouth & Portland Mayor Cllr Kate Wheller, alongside Cllr Paul Kimber and Cllr Pamela Nixon, spoke with students about the role they provide within the local community. A speech was also given by Nigel Le Sueur on the role and history of the maces and robes.

Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Mayor Cllr Kate Wheller said: “It is always nice to have the opportunity to meet younger residents.  It was encouraging to see how interested the students were about the work of the council and councillors.  I am always pleased to meet groups from schools and clubs”
