Following a successful Council Management Meeting yesterday, the whole process has been speeded up! It was not the Councillors causing the hold up, it was more to do with process and procedure but now we have a more realistic timetable to work with.

Here’s what we are now looking at:

Monday 15th April start of Tender Process
Monday 27th May end of Tender Process
Start of June Tenders reviewed
…21st June Award of Tender

If the number of tenders are limited then we are hoping that the tender can be awarded earlier in June.

If we are successful then we are aiming to have the Pavilion open for the Military and Veterans Festival for the weekend of 22nd and 23rd June which attracts 35,000 people to the borough.

If we get the tender we will have our work cut out. Many local users and fundraisers are keen to make use of the venue from this point and we will work hard to get short notice comedians and shows on the back of the huge media coverage.
