Earlier this month the Exeter Northcott Theatre live streamed their pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk to the children’s ward at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. This enabled children and their families who were unable to attend the performances at the theatre to see the panto. This kind gesture inspired John Gurd a local photographer and videographer to offer his company services at We Live Stream to the team at Weymouth Pavilion. Weymouth’s panto, Dick Whittington has been recorded live by We Live Stream, and the panto can now be seen by the children at Dorset County Hospital and Julia’s House in Poole plus patients at Weldmar Hospicecare.

John Gurd, owner of We Live Stream said “I have previously worked as a local photographer in the Weymouth and Portland area and I am now very excited about my new business which allows news stories and events to be live streamed anytime and to anywhere in the world. I really wanted the children who are not able to attend a live performance at the theatre to still enjoy the pantomime. I found the Dick Whittington panto extremely funny and so did my daughter, I hope the children get a lot of fun and enjoyment from seeing it too.”

We Live Stream are a new company based on Portland who offer a highly experienced and professional camera crew, who currently film for British broadcasters including BBC and ITV in the news sector.

We Live Stream are able to offer live event streaming and a full filming service for events such as weddings, funerals, business presentations, seminars and other events throughout Dorset, Somerset and Devon. More information can be found at www.welivestream.co.uk

Lee Redwood, Director said “I am thrilled that John and his company at We Live Stream has offered to take the Weymouth Pantomime Dick Whittington to the children and patients who are unable to get to the show. We held a Relaxed Performance on 20th December which was very well attended, so this is a great way to enable more children to see the pantomime. If any organisation or charity would like to obtain a private link to the pantomime they just need to contact Ellie Cleaver Coles our Company Manager at [email protected] or Chris Cole, Marketing Manager at Weymouth Pavilion.

The Pantomime continues until 5th January 2019 and tickets are on sale at Weymouth Pavilion https://weymouthpavilion.com/event/Dick-Whittington/ Adult: £16.00 Concessions: £14.00
