A man who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision on the A35 Upton bypass near Poole has sadly died.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.09am on Saturday 2 October 2021 of a single vehicle collision involving a blue Chevrolet Aveo near to the Bakers Arms Roundabout.

Officers attended, along with the fire and ambulance services, and the sole occupant of the vehicle – a man aged in his 30s from Wimborne – was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries. 

Very sadly, he died in hospital on the night of Tuesday 5 October 2021. His family has been made aware.

Sergeant Rhys Griffiths, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man involved at what must be an extremely difficult time for them.

“We are continuing our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would again urge any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please come forward.”
