Officers investigating a hate crime incident in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 9.25am on Monday 8 July 2019 the victim, who is a Jewish woman, was on Manor Road when a man walking behind her began verbally abusing her and making racially aggravated comments.

The victim stopped outside the Majestic Hotel and the man carried on walking.

He is described as white, over six feet tall and aged in his mid 30s. He was said to be of an unkempt appearance and was walking a medium-sized dog off the lead.

The matter was reported to Dorset Police on Tuesday 16 July 2019.

Police Constable Olivia Galliver, of Bournemouth police, said: “Dorset Police takes hate crime very seriously and we are determined to identify the man responsible.

“We have been making a number of enquiries into this incident and having now gained further details from the victim I am appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.

“I would urge anyone with information that can assist our investigation to please contact us.”
