Officers investigating a report of an assault in Weymouth are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

At around 11.35am on Tuesday 2 March 2021 a woman aged in her 50s was walking across Westham Bridge toward Abbotsbury Road when she was reportedly approached by another woman, who was known to her, and assaulted.

The victim did not sustain any serious injuries.

Police Constable Don Duchscherer, of Weymouth police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I understand there were a number of people in the area at the time.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has any information that might assist our investigation, to please contact us.”
