Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a robbery in Poole.

The incident occurred at around 9.45am on Saturday 30 September 2023 as the victim – a woman aged in her 70s – was walking on Mellstock Road at the junction with Simmonds Close.

It is reported that a man approached the victim and took hold of her handbag strap and managed to snatch it from her arm.

The victim fell to the ground during the incident, but did not sustain any injuries.

The offender is described as white, aged in his 50s, five feet nine inches tall and of skinny build. He was wearing a dark-coloured zipped jacket, dark blue jeans, a pale T-shirt, dirty white trainers and a hat.

Police Constable Brandon Waines, of Poole police, said: “Thankfully, the victim did not sustain any injuries in this incident.

“I am appealing for anyone who saw what happened to please come forward.

“Also, I would like to speak to anyone who recognises the man responsible from the description given.”
