Guests staying in one of Bournemouth’s most popular hotels have helped raise a whopping five thousand pounds for Julia’s House.

Hotel Miramar located on Bournemouth’s prime East Cliff, operates a ‘Pound a Bed’ charity collection, where guests are invited to add just £1 to their bill at the end of their stay which is then donated to the hotel’s nominated charity, which for the past year has been Julia’s House.

Last summer Hotel Miramar also hosted a vintage afternoon tea in aid of the hospice, and this week was able to present a cheque for £5,000.

Hotel Director David Bailey said, “Since we launched the £1 a bed charity scheme we have been able to make significant donations to local charities. It is our very great pleasure to present £5,000 to Julia’s House to help them with their unstinting work supporting families caring for a child with a life-limiting illness. Our guests are always more than happy to make this contribution, and as they say – every little helps, and it adds up to a sizeable donation.”

The hotel will soon be announcing the beneficiaries of this year’s £1 a bed collection.  To find out more about Hotel Miramar, Bournemouth visit their website www.miramar-bournemouth.com
