Officers investigating an alleged assault in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

It was reported that at around 3.30pm on Saturday 1 February 2020 an 18-year-old man was assaulted behind Londis on Southview Road at the junction with Abbotsbury Road.

The victim sustained a fractured jaw that required an operation.

Two boys, aged 14 and 15, and a 38-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. All three people are from Weymouth and have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Investigations Officer Karen O’Donnell, of Weymouth CID, said: “I am really keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the reported assault.

“I am also appealing to anyone who may have information to assist my investigation to get in touch.”
