As the day is ending
Just think of ‘life of mars’
Where life is very peaceful
And the Martians are real stars.

The ‘star man’ stands there waiting
To see our world at peace
We are his ‘space oddity’
That he really can’t release

He’ll sprinkle us with star dust
And try to rearrange us
But to bring about true unity
It’s gunna need some ‘changes’.

He came to bring a message
And he certainly won’t fear us
It needs someone to make a stand
For he knows we can be ‘heroes’!

Why not welcome in the ‘starman’
As a ‘man who fell to earth’
Perhaps a time is coming
When we’ll celebrate his birth.

So he’ll rise and take the gauntlet
Just like ‘ a lad insane’
He’ll be a true ‘jean genie’
For he’s everything to gain

He’ll change the ‘young americans’
It will be their ‘golden years’
They’ll learn to spread their ‘peace on earth’
And wipe away our tears

We’ll learn to ‘love this alien’
And go ‘dancing in the street’
We’ll be ‘absolute beginners’
That no one can defeat.

His ‘magic dance’ wins over
He’ll be here forever more
They’ll be no ‘ashes to ashes’
And he’ll bring an end to war
