Detectives are appealing for information from the public after a man was found with a head injury in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police was called by the ambulance service at 2.24am today, Tuesday 21 August 2018, reporting that they had conveyed an injured man to hospital. He had sustained a potentially serious head injury.

He was located on Carysfort Road near to the junction with Hamilton Road.

A cordon has been put in place to allow officers to examine the scene.

Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour, of Bournemouth CID, said: “An investigation is underway to establish exactly how the man came to sustain the injury and whether there was any third party involvement.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area in the early hours of this morning or saw what happened to the man to please come forward.

“If you have any information that could assist with the investigation please contact Dorset Police urgently or call Crimestoppers anonymously.”
