APPEAL FOR POTENTIAL WITNESSES AFTER ASSAULT IN WEYMOUTH LEAVES MAN WITH BROKEN JAW

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following an assault in Weymouth – with CCTV images of two potential witnesses being released.

 The incident happened at around 2.40am on Sunday 17 January 2016 along St Alban Street.

The victim, a 19-year-old local man, was walking with a male friend toward Maiden Street. The pair then spoke to two women, before a man approached them and punched the victim in the face.

The victim suffered a broken jaw and required an operation.

Police Constable Hayley Roach, of Weymouth police, said: “I am now able to release CCTV images of two women I would like to speak to who I believe were in the immediate vicinity at the time of the incident and are potential witnesses.

“I would urge them or anyone who is able to identify them to contact me on 101 as I believe they can assist with my investigation.”

No arrests have been made.
