AsOne Theatre Company presents AsCend Physical Theatre

Summer Workshops 2013

Juniors 7-11 yrs & Seniors 12 – 18 yrs

Devise your own piece of theatre with a group of imaginative peers, using your own ideas and creative talents. After some fun theatre games – to gain both new skills and friendships – create a short drama with the magic of body, voice, simple props and evocative music.

AsOne Theatre Company has been touring new plays out of Weymouth since 2004. A String of Pearls, Let’s Do It!,  Hey Baby, She Opened the Door and The Cabinet Maker’s Daughter have all been successfully received, giving pleasure to thousands. AsOne’s latest project, AsCend Physical Theatre (with Imaginary Body’s feted Edinburgh Fringe First winning play ‘100’) is touring a mix of experienced and new graduate professional performers to seven counties in the autumn 2013. We always tour schools with workshops adapted in parallel with the themes of the plays. Well known in secondary and primary schools; they have all praised AsOne Theatre Company’s educational work.

‘I cannot speak highly enough of the experience and I will look forward to welcoming AsOne Theatre Company back to our school again in the future.’ (Gary Spraklen, Prince of Wales School, Dorchester)

‘10/10 – I thought the drama games were excellent!’ (Gemma)

‘I enjoyed it and it was cool!!! and you are really inspiring!!!!’  (Beth)

So join AsOne’s AsCend Physical Theatre this summer for something special and highly professional for children with: Artistic Director, Jane McKell BA Hons, PGCE, PG Acting Dip. and Assistant Artistic Director and project lead for AsCend, Jacqueline Avery BA Hons, PGCE.
