This year’s Dorchester Carnival begins with a range of family activities at Brewery Square.

Events will be held in the Square from 10am and include live music, black and white movies, dance performances and a silent disco.

Charlotte Spracklen, Centre Manager at Brewery Square said: “This will be the second time we have hosted the silent disco at Brewery Square and it really is great fun for everyone! The Dorchester Carnival brings the whole town together, and we are excited to be part of it again this year.”

Live music will begin with Nina Garcia at 12pm, followed by Steve Wilson and Simon Fenton at 1pm. Julie Storey’s ‘Let’s Dance Group’ will bring solo and duo performers to the stage at 2pm. Gymnastics, dance, and majorette displays will take place at 3pm, finishing with the Mill Street Jazz Band at 3pm.

Following the live music the Dorchester Carnival procession departs the Fairfield car park at 5:30pm.

After the procession, Carnival goers are invited to return to Brewery Square for a silent disco from 7.15pm until 8.15pm with DJ Owen. Tickets are £5 per person and are available at the event; there is no age restriction to join in.
