Officers investigating the theft of a wallet and subsequent attempted use of a stolen bank card in Bournemouth are issuing CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.

The victim believes his wallet, made of black fabric and with a Batman logo on it, was stolen while he was out in the area of Old Christchurch Road at around 9pm on Monday 22 April 2019. The wallet contained £200 cash and bank cards.

Shortly afterwards, an attempt was made to use one of the cards in the Yaawin Global Spicy Supermarket in Christchurch Road, but the transaction failed.

Police Constable Jennie Sykes-Martin, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been carrying out enquiries into this incident and have obtained CCTV images of a man who is believed to have attempted to use the card in the supermarket.

“I am now issuing the images in the hope that someone will recognise him.”
