Formed after meeting in various Open Mic nights in 2008, Shelby’s Elbows have developed into a locally well known entertainment duo, playing a variety of instruments and producing an instantly recognisable sound that surprises people when they discover that there’s only two people making it. Check ‘em out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rlGlD030A0

Moulettes/Robert Vincent & Bonsai Pirates (Mr Kyps, Parr Street, Ashley Cross, Lower Parkstone, Poole BH14 0JY): Moulettes are among the frontrunners of the new British acoustic scene thanks to their sophisticated, unpredictable approach, matching precise female harmony vocals against complex, swirling backing featuring violin, cello and bassoon, with added banjo, lap steel, hammered dulcimer or washboard. Big Red Ass play high energy, brass fronted ska/reggae/cossack that will get you moving. You’ll leave with new dancing friends, lucky as you’ll most likely spill your drink over your current mates. Songs about Suzukis, Festival Toilets, being far too drunk, Jim Morrison, and gossiping are easily digested and brilliantly executed. Much like many old campers BRA have been locked in a shed ready to shine better than ever this summer. A must!
