Officers investigating a purse theft at a Weymouth supermarket are issuing CCTV images of the two people they would like to speak to.

The victim, a woman aged in her 70s, was shopping at the Lidl store in Dorchester Road at around 11am on Thursday 17 October 2019 when her purse was taken from her bag.

Following enquiries, officers believe the incident may be linked to similar offences where elderly women have had their purses stolen at various locations around Dorset over the past few months.

Police Community Support Investigator Graeme Williams, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this purse theft and I am issuing CCTV images of two people we would like to speak to as part of our enquiries.

“I would urge anyone with information as to their identities to please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55190164108. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
