Looking for a new Christmas party location? Why not enjoy canapés surrounded by 200 years of history?

This Christmas, Shire Hall Historic Courthouse Museum in Dorchester will be opening its café and the spectacular Grand Jury Room after visiting hours for parties. The spacious and airy café can host up to 200 people, with wine and canapes starting at just £10 per head, or why not get into the festive spirit with mulled wine and mince pies?

All catering is to the highest standard and provided by the museum’s professional café team from Kingston Maurward College.

For their first Christmas the museum will feature a Victorian Christmas theme, and be decorated throughout with traditional garlands.

The Grand Jury Room – where once the verdicts for the most serious trials were decided – will provide a more intimate space for parties of up to 40.

Visitors will be able to visit the historic Georgian courthouse and cells as part of their visit – a unique opportunity to see this magnificently restored building after hours.

The modern café and beautifully restored Grand Jury Room make the perfect venue for history lovers, so for more information please visit www.shirehalldorset.org and see the menus below.
